Mark your calendars! The 20th Anniversary NLI Design Institute - Re-Naturing Urban Childhood: Towards a Healthy, Sustainable Culture has been officially rescheduled for March 25-26, 2021.

Healthy Starts for Infants and Toddlers is an innovative project to improve outdoor spaces for infants and toddlers, birth to 35 months, in 19 childcare centers in Wake, Orange, and Guilford counties, North Carolina.

Check out this promising new research on how interaction with the natural environment leads to stronger immune systems in young children.

This publication includes simple seasonal recipes, activities, and facts that can be used in both childcare centers and at home. These fun resources are a great way to celebrate the fall season.

NLI's Robin Moore will be joining speakers from different regions of the world drawn from academics, art, architecture, and planning, play practice, education, sharing ideas about improving post-pandemic cities for children, government, and UN agencies.

This intriguing Indian grass setting is not hard to create in an outdoor learning environment and can foster a number of learning and play activities. It can be used to create grass mazes or to help define the edge of a path or setting. It also provides winter interest, standing tall with frost glowing on the leaves.
