Healthy Starts for Infants and Toddlers Outdoor Learning Environments Showcase

NLI has led (since 2018) the outdoor learning environment component of this innovative health promotion program, funded through NC DCDEE. Achievements on the ground were celebrated Oct 7, 2021, with county TAs highlighting new, stimulating I-T outdoor experiences in four counties.

Giving Thanks

Recognizing this special time of year, NLI gratefully thanks all those organizations and individuals locally and far and wide, who’ve collaborated over so many years (including pandemic challenges), to continue creating environments for healthy human development and a healthy biosphere for generations to come.

Randolph’s Outdoor Learning Environment (OLE) Summit, hosted by the Early Childhood Development Center (NLI project 2013), included visits to four additional centers to celebrate outstanding new OLE improvements. A playful outdoor session on insects was led by NLI.

Leaving No Child and No Adolescent Behind

Former NLI team member and NC State alum, Dr. Chatterjee, is lead editor of this valuable collection that transports the reader to meet young people living in dire conditions of the developing world, arguing for the critical need to engage them in addressing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This publication includes simple seasonal recipes, activities, and facts that can be used in both childcare centers and at home. These fun resources are a great way to celebrate the season! Governor Cooper declared November as family engagement month!
