Discovery Point Heritage
Discovery Point Heritage, located in Wake Forest, NC, currently has an infants/ones area and a twos area, both of which have a portion of the space dedicated to artificial turf and a shade structure. The main priorities in both of these areas is to add more variety through play and learning settings, in addition to naturalizing the spaces with more plants and small trees for additional shade.
In the infants and ones area, the center has installed perimeter raised beds and in-ground planting beds to add more plant-life to the space. They have also built a low deck with pergola for shade, specifically for the infants.
A primary pathway already exists in the twos area, and the center would like to add more settings around the perimeter of the outdoor learning environment such as a sand play area, a teepee, a stump circle and balance logs and stumps. They would also like to add grassy mounds in both spaces.
