Syeda Zaman is a Research Assistant at NLI, where she currently works on visual material for a variety of design programs. She received her Bachelor of Architecture from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 2015 and worked as an intern at an architectural firm in Bangladesh called TKNRK Associates. Her undergraduate thesis project explored school design in disaster-prone areas, which piqued her interest in outdoor learning environments for children. After graduation, she did a series of freelance projects in both interior and architectural design. Syeda is currently a graduate student in the MLA program at NC State University.
Syeda grew up in a cosmopolitan city called Dhaka in Bangladesh. As a child, she remembers playing and having picnics in her neighborhood park. As a mother and designer, Syeda is passionate about providing healthy and engaging environments for future generations.
